2007/2006 Water monitoring project
A two-year water quality monitoring program began April 2006. SLWSS collected samples from five (5) inflow sites – Northwest Creek, Lambe Creek, Birchcliff Creek, Golf Course Creek and Honeymoon Creek and one (1) outflow site. Parameters measured included Ph, conductivity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, total dissolved solids, ammonia, nitrogen, phosphorous and bacteria. Data was compiled by Alberta Environment.

2006 Sylvan Lake Watershed Mapping Project
- April 2006 - Sylvan Lake Community Water Quality Monitoring Program. A project to train and mobilize community volunteers to monitor and collect water samples from six inflows to Sylvan Lake. Program funding, provided by ASN and the eight municipalities around Sylvan Lake is gratefully acknowledged. The full report is available here (PDF 5.6MB). - April 2006 - Sylvan Lake Watershed Mapping Project. A project to gather, collate and summarize information contained in numerous science-based studies on Sylvan Lake. The primary project objective was to extract key themes and to develop communications and outreach tools that can be used to increase public awareness. Funding for this project was provided by ASN and the Shell Environmental Fund and is gratefully acknowledged.
